Check Out The First Gameplay Video Of AO TENNIS

Big Ant Studios just released the first gameplay footage for their upcoming title, AO Tennis. The gameplay trailer posted above shows a series of rallies between tennis superstars Rafael Nadal and Kevin Anderson.

The gameplay video was released a day before the game’s launch in Australia, which addresses concerns on Twitter regarding the lack of trailers for the upcoming game. In a Tweet to address these concerns, Big Ant said that “there are some things at this year’s Australian Open that need to be kept under wraps until the first match begins". However, the video doesn't show any features, what modes are available, and how the player will control their characters. The trailer even felt like it was just uploaded because people asked for it as the video barely showed anything besides a long match between the two athletes.

Big Ant studios also revealed more information on the game together with the gameplay video. Check out the official description of the game below:

“The game will set a new standard for the sport of tennis, combining the heritage and history of the Australian Open with Big Ant’s celebrated photogrammetry perfectly capturing the stars, and real-world statistical data to deepen the AI of each athlete,” the developer today said in a press release.
“With previous tennis games, the world #1 would be challenging to beat, because his or her in-game attributes would be set to merely make fewer errors. That worked well at the time, but we’ve taken things to the next level,” Big Ant CEO, Ross Symons, said. “In AO Tennis Rafael Nadal is the hardest player to beat because in game he plays like his real life counterpart; he plays a game style befitting the #1 player in the world.”
“Every day we are constantly looking for ways to enable our fans to engage more deeply and more often in the Australian Open, and having the opportunity to play AO Tennis fully immerses them in this incredible event,” Tennis Australia CEO and Australian Open Tournament Director, Craig Tiley, said.

AO Tennis will be released on January 16 in Australia for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, a worldwide release will follow later this year. What do you think of the upcoming Australian Open tennis game?
