CRISIS CORE -FINAL FANTASY VII- REUNION Coming To Consoles And PC This Winter

Square Enix unveiled a trove of new info on their upcoming projects at this week’s Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary presentation, including the official announcement of Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion, a remaster of the fan-favorite spinoff. This improved version of the 2007 title will feature updated 3D models, new voice recordings for every line of dialogue, and new musical arrangements.

Originally released for the PSP in 2007, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII was a prequel to Final Fantasy VII that followed the exploits of Zack Fair as he searched for Genesis, a missing member of the paramilitary organization SOLDIER. On his journey, Zack uncovered a vast conspiracy about the sinister origin of Genesis and other notable SOLDIERS like Sephiroth.

Square Enix hasn’t been shy about its efforts to reimagine the story of Final Fantasy VII with the remake project, even altering critical events like Zack’s death and the destruction of Midgar. With this in mind, it’s very possible that Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion could have some major plot changes of its own.

Fans won’t have to wait too much longer to find out, as Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion will launch in Winter 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
