FORTNITE BATTLE ROYALE Is Coming To Mobile

Epic Games has recently announced that they are developing a mobile version of the popular game, Fortnite Battle Royale. The mobile version of the game will be released on both iOS and Android devices. However, iOS users will be able to sign up and receive updates and invitations to an early access of the game soon, with Android devices to follow soon after.

“On phones and tablets, Fortnite is the game 100-player game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac,” Epic said in a blog post. “Same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates.”

The mobile versions of the game will support cross-play across all platforms, however, Nick Chester, a representative from Epic Games revealed on Twitter that players on mobile will be able to join the PS4 and PC lobbies, however players on PS4 and PC, will not be able to join mobile lobbies.

“A PC gamer cannot join a mobile queue, but a mobile gamer can opt to play with a PC player,” Chester said. “They’re not all dumped into one matchmaking pool.”

In the coming months, Epic Games will give a small number of players an access to an early version of the game by invitation only. Starting on Monday, March 12, interested players can register on the game’s website, which will put them in an email list, and those lucky players who gets an invite code, can share them with friends.

Lastly, Epic’s decision to launch Fortnite Battle Royale on mobile may be seen as somewhat ambitious, but the company believes that this will be the direction of the industry.

“We believe this is the future of games. The same game on all platforms. Console quality graphics and action. Play when you want, where you want.”
