New Update For BATTLEFIELD 2042 Is Here

Discarded Map (Salvage Yards)

EA's Battlefield 2042 has received its 4.2 update. The update is promising some things to bring improvements to a game that is generally pretty negatively regarded. The update brings players map reworks, collection and customization improvements, end-of-round improvements, mastery improvements, uniform soldier aiming "on" default, and general quality of life improvements.

The map rework focuses on the map Discarded, with the update their goal was to make infantry gameplay more enjoyable and accessible by adding new flags and other existing flags have been moved closer to the main play areas. They added several new paths and roads across the map to make travel easier and the global lighting in the map has also received improvements. An area of the map that used to be an open field has now been transformed into a Salvage Yard where there are broken-down cards and several destructible buildings on the outskirts of the flag. A flag was also moved closer to the Flooded Village to improve the link between the north area and the south area of the map.

With the quality of life improvements, they adjusted things like the collection and customization. You are now able to remove attachments within ht customization screen and they upgraded the overall legibility of the Plus Menu in-game. They improved how attachments are moved and swapped as well as some layout fixes to reduce the amount of steps necessary to get into changing attachments. They also improved the End of Round experience, by adding a new Squad Performance statistic called "Personal Best". This will display when you have reached a new record on any statistic such as kills, damage dealt, revives, and assists. Now it will also be possible to skip all the way to the main menu without leaving the automatic matchmaking as well.

The Battlefield 2042 4.2 update is live now across all platforms including, PC via Steam or the EA app for Windows, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. You can look over the full update breakdown on the game’s official blog.
