Nintendo Switch System Update 2.1.0 Adds Stability
If you’ve ever owned a Nintendo 3DS you probably already know that Nintendo is the uncontested champion of stability updates. If you haven’t, worry not, you will soon find out. While the day one patch added system functionality and network features, chiefly, access to the eShop, according to the patch notes on Nintendo Support all that update 2.1.0 adds is,
Sadly, this is not the update most users were expecting, which would add Virtual Console, voice chat, the premium service free trial, or even the long-speculated video streaming services.
Update 2.1.0 is now live and to get it all you have to do is be connected to the internet, since updates for the Nintendo Switch are usually downloaded in the background and installed upon initialization of game software after a prompt, but you can always ensure that you have the latest by going to System Settings and selecting the “System” sub-menu where you can then select the “System Update” feature.
Official dates have yet to be confirmed for Virtual Console, voice chat, and subscription-based services.
