PlayStation Announces Concord Will Be Going Offline But Will Be Back
Concord has had less than a spectacular launch. Failing to break even 1000 concurrent players on Steam on launch day should have been a grim start, but after 2 weeks, PlayStation has announced that they are going to take the game off sale and figure out how to bring the game back in a better shape.
In their blog post, PlayStation talks about not reaching the numbers they had hoped for, and that is evident. FireWalk studios, the developers of the game say that they will revisit their strategy for attracting players, but for now the game will be taken offline on September 6th.
Players will receive a refund on the game regardless of where you bought the game from, so at least it wasn’t a total loss. While the situation is unfortunate, the game was in development for at least 6 years, and reportedly cost a $150 Million USD. As such, they really need to go back to the drawing board with this release.
