POKEMON Trading Card Game Has Some Big News For 2023
A few months ago, The Pokémon Company announced the first pack to release in 2023 for their Pokémon Trading Card Game collection and now it is here! Collectors and players alike can get their hands on the new Crown Zenith packs featuring new art styles and unique illustrations with a focus on alternate art cards, including the first-ever special art Pokémon VSTAR. The new expansion also introduces a Galarian Gallery subset of 70 cards, as well as a new linked illustration feature which offers Trainers a chance to collect and connect nine different Galarian Gallery cards to reveal a larger image.
Those looking to really set themselves up with the new Pokémon cards can order a Crown Zenith Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box Plus, which is available exclusively at Pokémon Center in the US, Canada, and the UK. This box includes 12 Crown Zenith booster packs, one etched foil promo card featuring Lucario VSTAR, one metal coin featuring Lucario, and various gameplay accessories. They also have some smaller box options, such as the Crown Zenith Elite Trainer Box and the Crown Zenith Collection — Regieleki V or Regidrago V.
They have also revealed the pack that is next up to follow this release and that is the Scarlet & Violet expansion, which is set to launch worldwide beginning on March 31, 2023. The new expansion will adopt an updated take on Pokémon ex, a gameplay mechanic featuring Pokémon with high HP as well as powerful attacks and Abilities. Inspired by the Terastal phenomenon from the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games, the new expansion will also introduce Tera Pokémon ex to the Pokémon TCG.
Scarlet & Violet will be available in booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes and special collections at Pokémon Center and other participating retailers around the world.
