PRISON TYCOON: UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT Is Coming To Console Next Month!
Ziggurat Interactive has just announced that Prison Tycoon: Under New Management is coming to consoles on February 7th! PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo players will be able to experience this Tycoon title in just a month away. This new entry completely reboots the series with a new take on designing, constructing, and maintaining a correctional facility.
With a shift in primarily focusing on rehabilitation over punishment, players will have to find that sweet balance of services and security as they build their prisons. Managing resources as well as keeping both staff and prisoners happy will be the main focus of this building/management sim. Whether you are building a new cell block or integrating a VR therapy room, players must make their facilities a supportive and effective rehabilitative experience.
Key Features:
Rehabilitate and Release: Evaluate prisoners, then provide the therapies that will help rehabilitate them, from zero gravity rooms to VR therapy
Five Distinct Environments: Select from tropical, tundra, taiga (boreal forest), swamp, or desert biomes, each with its own environmental challenges
Build From Your Own Blueprints: Design every room, path, checkpoint, office, and cell block
Hire Experts: Evaluate and hire staff to serve 12 different roles in running and maintaining your facility
Secure and Protect: Maintain a secure facility using guards, cameras, watchtowers, and checkpoints
This seems to be a huge shift in tone as well as gameplay with this new entry in the series. Typically Prison Tycoon would focus on the punishments of prisoners as opposed to trying to make them happy through rehabilitation sessions. It seems like some of the rehab options can be quite comical such as pole dancing and a VR therapy room.
Prison Tycoon: Under New Management is available now on PC via Steam and GOG. It is launching on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on February 7, 2023.
