Today's Ubisoft Forward Had Some Big Game Announcements
In mid-July, Ubisoft streamed their event Ubisoft Forward. They’re back again with even more games to keep their players enticed for months to come. This time, we got 2 new IPs, a remake, and an updated complete edition. Let’s not waste any more time and just jump right in.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising
The show started with the unveiling of the open-world mythological tittle Immortals: Fenyx Rising. The story is set on a fictional Greek island called Golden Isle as you fight to save the world from the evil god Typhon. The game offers a fully customizable protagonist in the titular character Fenyx. Progression through the world opens new opportunities for weapons and abilities as well. Golden Isle has various areas for you to explore, solve puzzles, and battle creatures in. Each being controlled by a different god. Immortals: Fenyx Rising comes out on December 3rd for Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake
After years of anticipation and rumors, we can now rest easy. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is resurrecting the franchise in a big way. This is a totally redone version of the 2003 title. Being the company’s first-ever remake, it was important for them to have it done right. The game is treated to a fresh graphical upgrade, smoother combat, and better camera control. The movement has been reinvigorated as well with a new targeting system that has been implemented to create organic acrobatics that the franchise is known for. The game will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on January 21st, 2021.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition
The punk-rock ex-terminator Scott is back in action for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition. This is the definitive edition of the 2010 hit game. It includes all DLC and add-ons that became available following its release. This title has built up a huge following over the years, so it’s nice to see it coming back to the limelight. It releases this holiday season for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC.
Riders Republic
Talk about the unexpected. When I saw this reveal it totally caught me off-guard. Riders Republic is what can only be explained as an adrenaline junkie’s dream. It’s an extreme sports open world with massive online multiplayer capabilities. You can bike, snowboard, ski, glide, jetpack, and more all over the 7 available areas within the game. Each has its own terrain and biome to give you an immersive feel that you’ll never want to give up. All of these areas meet up to each other in organic ways to also keep the realism true to the real locations it’s based on. I know that this game is sitting high on my wishlist. It’s slated to release on February 25th in 2021 and will be available to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Google Stadia, and PC.
Ubisoft really hit the right chords with this event. I cannot wait to play the Prince of Persia again and I’m dying to try out Riders Republic. They say that we’ll get more news as we get closer to each game’s release and I can’t wait to hear more.
