Volition Releases ISO of Unreleased SAINTS ROW: UNDERCOVER on PSP
I have been madly in love with Volition's Saints Row series since the second installment. Saints Row 2 was one of the first games I ever actually logged multiple hundreds of hours into. The series combines all of my favorite things: open world exploration, character customization, unique weapons, and humor. So when THQ was announcing their closure, I was very happy to hear Volition was getting picked up by Deep Silver. Somewhere along the way an entry in the Saints Row franchise fell by the wayside. This likely happened well before the buyout, but it makes me sad that it never saw the light of day... until now.
Volition, being the cool dudes that they are, have released a playable ISO of their previously unreleased PSP game, Saints Row: Undercover. This isn't a release build by any stretch of the imagination, and much like the leaked build of Star Wars Battlefront III we posted last week, playing it will take a bit of work. So far the ISO has been tested on the PPSSPP emulator and seems to run just fine. Well, at least as fine as a prototype build of a game can run. Reports are showing that modded PSP 2000's capable of running ISOs aren't handling it too well though. However, if you are either lucky or wealthy enough to own a developer's kit it should run like a dream.
While I wasn't encouraging the downloading and playing of the stolen Battlefront leak, Volition has released this to the public themselves so that it can be played and archived as part of their most successful series. I can't wait to give it a play myself.
