Halo 3 was released on PC as a part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection earlier this month, and has seen much praise since launch. To celebrate the launch of this highly anticipated title, players were given the opportunity to earn the brand new Acrophobia Skull and an exclusive Halo 3 nameplate for a limited time. Today would have been the last day to acquire these exclusive rewards, but after much community feedback, 343 has decided to alter the deadline and requirements to earn them.
After today’s (July 29) update, players will only need to log into the Master Chief Collection on any platform, at any time before the upcoming launch of Halo 3: ODST on PC in order to obtain the Alliance nameplate and Acrophobia Skull. After the launch of Halo 3: ODST, players will no longer be able to get the nameplate, but the Skull will be available for all for free. Also included inside the patch are some minor bug fixes for the in-game challenge tracker.
I personally didn’t see anything wrong with how 343 originally introduced these exclusive rewards, other than the time-limited Skull, as the challenges were fairly easy to complete and I feel we were given much more than enough time to complete them, but I digress.
How do you feel about these changes? Have you had a chance to play Halo 3 on the PC? Let us know in the comments!
