Are You A MORTAL KOMBAT Pro?

Warner Bros Games and NetherRealm Studios have partnered with RTS to launch the Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition, a new global esports program for the latest installment in the franchise. With a substantial $255,000 prize pool, the league will commence on October 20th at the East Coast Throwdown fighting game tournament. The Pro Kompetition will culminate in the Final Kombat World Championship (FKWC) in June 2024, featuring 20 contestants.

To qualify for the FKWC, players will have four in-person opportunities: East Coast Throwdown (October 20th-22nd), Ultimate Fighting Arena (November 24-26), CCXP/Comic Con Experience (November 30th-December 3rd), and Combo Breaker (Spring 2024). Additionally, the Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition will include three regional programs, each with its own sub-regions, along with three online qualifier events.

As a fan of Mortal Kombat and fighting games in general, I can appreciate the competitive nature of the series. While I myself may not reach competition level, I do enjoy participating in the online Kombat League and challenging myrself. Watching skilled players compete in Mortal Kombat always captivates me, as I am amazed by the intricate combos and the impressive strategies employed. The rapid growth of the game's competitive scene is a testament to its exceptional design and deserves the popularity it is gaining.
