Fans of the long-awaited next chapter in the Arma franchise, Arma 4, were given a treat during Bohemia Interactive’s live-stream presentation yesterday with the announcement of Arma Reforger. Confirming that Arma 4 is indeed in development, Bohemia Interactive says that Reforger is the next stepping stone on the way to completing the fourth official installment.

Reforger is a standalone installment that serves as a platform for players to enjoy, giving us all a chance to play in a reimagined version of Arma: Cold War Assault’s original map, Everon. Spanning a remarkable 164 km2 which contains 51 km2 of landmass alone, this is a stunning environment for eager players to explore and play around in, taking place in the 1980s.

This new title also serves as a test of sorts for developers to digest the community feedback they receive in order to make Arma 4 the best it could be. Coming in hot with a brand-new game engine, this title is the first to run on Bohemia’s Enfusion which will also power the forthcoming Arma 4. Not only is the engine itself pretty impressive at first sight, but there are also tons of tools that the developers implore modders to use at their disposal, thanks to this powerful new engine.

Game Modes
Take to the battlefield in one of Arma Reforger's two multiplayer game modes. Select a side and fight for the island of Everon in Conflict, or edit scenarios in Game Master and manage events as they unfold, guiding players through the chaos of war.
Multiplatform
Experience authentic combat on both Xbox and PC, for the first time in the Arma series. Modded content is no longer exclusive to PC players and can be downloaded by both PC console owners from the content creation repository on the Workshop.
