With the announcement of Assassins Creed Shadow, many people were angry with how the PlayStation Store description for the game made it sound like the game would have an always-online DRM, but Ubisoft has clarified that it is only party true.
Ubisoft released a statement earlier confirming that you will only need internet to install the game. For the rest of the game, you can play it without an internet connection.
WIth this revelation, players are now relieved to learn that the game will be playable offline, but are still somewhat irked by the prospect of being connected to the internet to install the game, presumably if it applies to physical copies as well.
The practice is not uncommon, as many games are now launching with day-one patches, so its understandable why you would need to be on the internet anyway when installing a game.
With that little detail out of the way, I am thoroughly enthused to see more gameplay of Shadow in June!
