Awhile back it was announced that the NBA would be jumping into the eSports in a partnership with Take-Two Interactive that would create an official league for the NBA 2K franchise. At the time of its creation, it was estimated that the franchise would have 12 officially sponsored NBA teams before 2018 for league play. Today, it's being reported that 17 organizations have already signed on, with 16 being named. They are:
- Cleveland Cavaliers
- Golden State Warriors
- Utah Jazz
- Indiana Pacers
- Boston Celtics
- Dallas Mavericks
- Detroit Pistons
- Memphis Grizzlies
- Miami Heat
- Milwaukee Bucks
- New York Knicks
- Orlando Magic
- Sacremento Kings
- Portland Trailblazers
- Toronto Raptors
- Philadelphia 76ers
No word yet on how each team will be drafting their pros, but obviously this is a big moment for eSports. Who doesn't want to be a part of an official NBA organization? Keep an eye out on your favorite teams for potential tryouts!
