After playing Resident Evil Village on PS5, I have been itching to get back into the survival horror series and eagerly awaiting the next Resident Evil announcement. Although we may have to wait a bit longer for some Resident Evil 4 Remake news, Capcom has just announced today that the recent remakes Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7 will be getting free next-gen upgrades later this year.

RE2, RE3, and RE7 are all going to get a significant face-lift and performance boost with these free updates. Players can expect to wander the streets of Raccoon City with ray tracing, high frame rates, and 3D audio to enhance the experience.

PS5 players will be able to experience full DualSense support for Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers fully fleshed out for all three games. This is going to be a great reason to play through RE7 again for anyone who originally played the game in VR and looking for a more enhanced experience in regards to visual fidelity.

Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7 will receive a free next-gen update on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam later this year.
