Cloudspire, the strategy game from Chip Theory Games, released in 2019 with great success. Inspired by tower defense and multiplayer online battle arena games, it features unique factions in the realm of Ankar. These warring factions fight for control of energy known as “the source.” The competitive game involves armies of troops and heroes that stand above the rest to turn the tide of battle against opponents. Cloudspire also features solo and cooperative play controlled by scenarios that progress the narrative.

Now, the game is heading back to Kickstarter in April for a reprint. The campaign will be an opportunity to get the strategy experience onto the tabletops of more gamers, but it will also introduce two new factions! The original four factions—brawnen, heirs, narora, and grovetenders—will be threatened by the arrival of The Uprising, a vicious band of mercenaries, and Horizon’s Wrath, a motley crew of sky pirates. Each new faction comes with four solo scenarios and two cooperative scenarios, for additional gameplay.

Ankar is getting more chaotic, and the realm will certainly be a dangerous place.

Chip Theory Games builds remarkably nice games, though, so expect to adventure on die-cut neoprene playing surfaces with weighted chips and all of the luxury game components that will come with Cloudspire.
