Crazy that it has already been over 2 weeks since the launch of the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection. In that time I have completed the campaign for the original CnC and spent a ton of time doing skirmish matches against the CPU and a few online matches as well. The experience has been a fun one as I have outlined in the review we posted for it shortly after launch, but the community has shown that a number of things needed to be addressed. And that is exactly what has happened today with the newest patch for the game! This new update features over 80 bug-fixes and improvements to the collection including highly requested things like private lobbies and a fix for stuttering experienced by some users.
Highlighted bugfixes and improvements include.
The ability to host Private Game Lobbies
Player Panel in-game to view player names, factions, team colors, and status
Other player’s chat can be muted while in-game
Custom Missions can now be manually saved and loaded
Players can now customize their playlist here and listen in its entirety without needing to load into an actual game
I am honestly glad to see that post-launch support for the game is very strong. The original Command & Conquer and Red Alert hold a very special place in my gaming world and seeing the collection treated with this respect is a dream come true. If you are interested in seeing the full patch notes be sure to check out Jim Vessella’s post over on Reddit, it’s pretty nuts! Now if you’ll excuse me, it is time to play another round of Red Alert.
