It’s not often we get news that doesn’t specifically pertain to video games. Reviews, first impressions, and news on releases make up most of our content, but today is a little different. FuturLab, the developers of PowerWash Simulator, has reached new heights in their audience count and has promoted a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO)! Square Enix is sure to be proud of their developer and the successful game they published.
The game has reached seven million players, which is double the number of players in two months. This is an amazing achievement for any studio. The fact that it’s a smaller developer bears credence to the incredible game design and consistent content releases for the game. As the company grew, both in sales and players, FuturLab investigated the talent pool to decide who amongst the games industry workers would best help monitor their finances.
Steve Tinkler, a long-time worker in the games industry, who has worked as Director of Epic Games’ Strategic Finance team and as CFO of Mediatonic during the success of Fall Guys, has been appointed the new CFO of FuturLab.
Steve has the support of multiple colleagues, including Chris Mehr who had the following to say:
“Having someone of Steve’s caliber and experience joining us as CFO is yet another sign of the strides we’re taking as a fast-growing self-funded studio and speaks to the ambition we have for the years to come.”
The future of FuturLab looks bright, both in talent and content. We only hope that this success continues for years to come.
