The Iberian Peninsula has seen its fair share of chaos historically, and the newest DLC for Crusader Kings 3 from Paradox Interactive lets players experience the struggles firsthand. With all-new events, mechanics, and outfits, there is plenty for players to enjoy. It was also released with the 1.6 “Castle” free update, adding some quality of life changes to the game, as well as new free content like religious faction heads, changed vassal contracts, and a new faction.
Fate of Iberia is about the interactions between cultures and religions in Iberia, the modern day Spain and Portugal. Back in the time of Crusader Kings 3 however, the region is split between multiple Christian and Muslim leaders, all vying for control. The largest new mechanic added with this DLC is the ‘struggle’ mechanic, a way of seeing how successful your own battle for power is going. Decisions are made such as allowing religious differences and embracing a melting-pot culture, or forcefully removing others to solidify your own religion’s hold. The struggle has multiple outcomes, and it will be up to the players to influence it whichever way it goes.
Along with this system, Fate of Iberia adds plenty of themed art, cultural traits, new legacies, and even the ability to play chess with other characters! All of these can be enjoyed with a new bookmark for interesting Iberian characters at the 867 start date. This cultural flavor pack is full of new content and is currently being sold for $6.99 USD. Fate of Iberia is available on PC via Steam and PC Game Pass. It is included for owners of the Crusader Kings 3: Royal Edition and Expansion Pass.
