When it comes to the unboxing experience, there’s a lot to unpack, literally. The chair comes in many pieces with various screws included to put it together. Luckily, all you need to get it put together is the included Phillips-head screwdriver with a pretty great t-shaped design which allows it to fit comfortably whilst you’re trying to fight with the chair when screwing everything in.

Aesthetics and Build Quality

As far as aesthetics go, FlexiSpot hit it right out of the park with this design. With its majorly mesh features, it manages to be a great-looking chair whether you’re trying to tie it into your elite gaming setup or your standard home office. The fully blacked-out colorway also gives it a truly mature look which will contrast very well against the RGB-lit PC or peripherals one might have on their desk.

As far as how well it’s built; it too is a home run due to how great everything works. Swiveling is very smooth, rolling along carpet is a breeze, and the seat doesn’t sink to one specific side when sitting in it. All of these aspects I’ve brought up are things that I’ve personally experienced in chairs in the past and really show that when you spend your money right, you get that back in how well it works.

Even beyond the scope of aspects I’ve noticed in other chairs, this one does a great job at just being a solid chair that you can depend on. Functionality

The Soutien does exactly what a user would need and more. Because of the smoothness of its swivel and wheels, moving around a tight office especially is fantastic. Trust me, bumping into your desk and knocking things over is a nightmare and because I have more control due to the clean ride this provides, I don’t have to worry about these things anymore.

The adjustable armrests really come in handy in this aspect as well. I can tuck them away on their lower setting when not in use and easily pull them up and maneuver them as needed when I’m in the captain’s seat. It’s hard not to feel like you’re someone important when you have the right chair beneath you.

When it comes to long gaming or writing sessions, this is a great option as well. The cushion beneath is thick and the lumbar support provides the needed comfortability for a long day’s work. I do think that the cushion could be a bit more cushioned in some way but it’s still extremely comfortable during an extended duration.

What It Could Have Done Better

While I think the cushion could be a bit fuller, the only real complaint that I have is that the back lumbar can be finicky at times. It adjusts vertically but once you get to the top, it comes down. This can be tricky if leaning into it on the top-notch as it can cause it to reset and move down again. This is by no means a dealbreaker but it could be annoying for taller folks who need that lumbar at the highest point.

FlexiSpot has done a great job at creating a chair that exceeds expectations in most aspects. Though its lumbar design could truly be improved, the greatness of the rest of its design choices can’t be overlooked. For its premium price, the Soutien Ergonomic Chair lives up to its name, providing users with a lavishly comfortable seating experience well worth its admission price.
