Free Boss Rush Mode And More Coming To METROID DREAD

One of the best games of 2021 is officially getting free updates starting today. Metroid Dread fans can expect to see two new difficulty modes to either challenge or ease the game for new players. The new “Dread Mode” is intended for the most experienced players since a single hit will cause instant death. The speed runs on this mode are going to be insane to watch.

Meanwhile, if you’re not a masochist and are just getting into the series for the first time, “Rookie Mode” is right up your alley. Rookie Mode provides increased health pickups and less damage received from bosses, making your first run a much easier task. This new update seems to balance the game’s difficulty settings for all types of players.

The second big free update will be coming in April and includes “Boss Rush Mode”. This mode challenges players to tackle each boss from the campaign, continuously, to see if they can survive until the very end. This is a nice addition to an already stellar game and will add to its replayability for sure.

There has been no word on any other updates or even DLC for Metroid Dread, but it’s a good sign to see that Nintendo knows the fans want more Metroid. Let’s hope this is the first of many more updates to come.
