Free League Publishing To Join UK Games Expo

The UK Games Expo is going online for the first time ever and the Virtually Expo event starts in two days, from Friday, August 21st to Sunday, August 23rd.

Free League Publishing, the Swedish publisher that has created some of my favorite RPG experiences in recent memory, will be there to excite gamers with live plays and online games of ALIEN, Tales from the Loop, and Vaesen.

The most intriguing part of the publisher’s involvement in the expo, though, will be the scheduled panel on horror RPGs, with authors Andrew E.C. Gaska, Nils Hintze, and Johan Nohr discussing their work on Free League projects.

Here’s the anticipated schedule, with times in BST:

  • August 21st, 8 pm: ALIEN RPG "Hope’s Last Hand."

  • August 22nd, 1 pm: Vaesen RPG "A Dark Night."

  • August 22nd, 5 pm: "Horror in Roleplaying" Panel.

    • On the UK Games Expo Main Stage Twitch channel, the designers of Free League's latest horror RPGs ALIEN, Vaesen and MÖRK BORG discuss how to best create dread and horror in RPGs. Featuring Andrew E.C. Gaska, Nils Hintze and Johan Nohr.

  • August 22nd, 8 pm: ALIEN RPG "District 11."

  • August 23rd, 11 am: "Navigating RPG Lore" Panel.

  • August 23rd, 1 pm: Tales from the Loop RPG "The Recycled Boy."

  • August 23rd, 8 pm: MÖRK BORG RPG "This is Not Us."

There is also the UK Game Expo Awards ceremony that will feature on the UK Games Expo Main Stage Twitch channel. The ALIEN RPG and its first scenario Chariot of the Gods are both nominated for an award, as well as the Mother of Darkness campaign book for Symbaroum.

If this year’s ENNIES were any indication, it’s very possible that Free League will come away with a win or two.

I’m pumped about the horror panel.
