As Dotemu and Tribute Games continue to work on their retro-style series return titleTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Shredder’s Revenge, they stopped by Gamescom to reveal a new fighter. Joining the fight alongside Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael is the star reporter and beloved ally to the heroes in a half shell, April O’Neil! Sporting her iconic yellow jumpsuit and trusty reporting gear, April unleashes flurries of hits against the Foot Clan’s devious soldiers in her feature gameplay trailer.
This gameplay trailer really shows her skills off and reveals her to be quite the character to play as. Her agility and far-reaching slide kicks help her close in on targets quickly, and she once again proves the turtles can rely on her unwavering support, even through slices of pizza. It is definitely worth watching April fight back the Foot Clan. Plus, this trailer includes a new original track from composer Tee Lopes, who is known for working on retro-style games such as Sonic Mania and Streets of Rage 4.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is set to release in 2022 for the PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch. Given that they have both Tribute Games, the original developer of the 2007 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game for Gameboy Advance, and Dotemu, creator and publisher of retro series continuations, this game has a lot of promise! Not to mention that the series return is being backed by Nickelodeon as well.
