Ubisoft is celebrating 20 years of Sam Fisher in a big way. With the recent reveal of the Splinter Cell remake, fans have been yearning for more information and details to be released. So far, Ubisoft has been very silent on the remake, which clearly shows that the game is still in the very early stages of development. Ubisoft is ready to break the silence with its recent video showcasing updates on the latest title in the series.
Ubisoft revealed that they are hard at work on making Sam’s new entry a modernized take, but also staying true to what made the original titles so memorable. Various Ubisoft creatives discuss the original trilogy with the utmost praise and it is clear that Ubisoft is trying to get back to its roots with Splinter Cell, seeking inspiration from the original titles. This is fantastic news since the most critically acclaimed titles in the series were the original trilogy.
New concept art is also shown to help players visualize what the developers have in mind for this remake. Only time will tell if Ubisoft can deliver a fantastic stealth entry. The famous stealth multiplayer mode, Spies vs Mercs, was briefly mentioned in the featurette. Hopefully, Ubisoft brings us a modern take on the legendary asymmetrical multiplayer with this remake.
The featurette ends with a generous announcement that the original Splinter Cell is valuable to download for free via the Ubisoft Store from now until November 30. Be sure to download your copy now!
The Splinter Cell remake has yet to be given a launch date and is currently in development.
