In an alternate universe, the Soviet Union has completely reshaped the future with innovative technology and catastrophic horrors hell-bent on destroying civilization. At least that’s the vision for developer Mundfish and their new first-person shooter, Atomic Heart. Mundfish has just released a brand new trailer showing off some intense and chaotic gameplay for the upcoming sc-fi adventure.
Atomic Heart features an open world with action RPG elements and heart-pounding FPS gameplay. Enemies are an assortment of blood-thirsty robots and horrific creatures. Players will be able to craft and wield a multitude of weapons throughout their adventure, as well as an assortment of unique powers. The trailer depicts some type of levitation or anti-gravity power, pulling enemies into the air. An ice power is also showcased as being super effective against enemies up close, freezing them in mid-air. Subzero, eat your heart out.
This setup is very reminiscent of Bioshock and has us excited to see more. The trailer ends with the release window, stating simply “2022 #######BER.” The implications are clear, Atomic Heart is set to come out later this year sometime around September and December for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.
