Square Enix has just released a new Kingdom Hearts themed trailer that outlines a number of upcoming projects fans can look forward to in the tail end of 2020. Among these projects are Kingdom Hearts Dark Roads, an upcoming mobile game coming to iOS and Android, a Kingdom Hearts III soundtrack, and a new toy line. The most surprising reveal was for Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory an all new rhythm game set in the Kingdom Hearts universe. Melody of Memory looks to have players relive some of the biggest moments of the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Gameplay consists of hitting cues at the right time to defeat enemies or perform jumps. Multiple worlds will be included in the game letting players revisit many classic locations. Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory is slated to launch this year across PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Though I am not a Kingdom Hearts fan myself, it is cool to see the franchise getting tons of love in 2020. The release of a new rhythm game set in its universe also seems like it was overdue considering we had Final Fantasy based rhythm games back on the 3DS in 2012. Melody of Memory looks far better in my mind so I am curious to see how fans react to the title.
