After a couple of years under hiatus, Lords of the Fallen 2 is finally back in development. However, the game is now being developed by Defiant Studios, which was founded by the ex-head of Avalanche Studios, David Grijns.
Lords of the Fallen 2 was initially confirmed back in 2015 after CI Games announced that the development of the sequel will not involve the original developer, Deck13 Interactive. In a news release, Defiant and CI Games revealed that both companies have been in discussion for several months.
“We talked to a number of globally respected studios that had shown a strong interest in making the next LotF, and received solid pitches,” CI Games CEO Marek Tymiński in the press release. “We finally decided to move forward with Defiant because we were impressed with their game concept, production expertise, and the pedigree of their developers. Defiant is made up of some of the industry’s most talented creators, and we are thrilled to have them create the sequel to LotF. We look forward to bringing their next big game to the global market on consoles and PC.”
The original Lords of the Fallen was released back in 2014 for the PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. Currently, no announcement has been made on when Lords of the Fallen 2 will be scheduled to launch or on which platforms the game will be released to.
