After 7 long years of development, developers Lychee Game Labs and publishers Curve Games are excited to announce the launch of Patch Quest. The title is a very different kind of game as it creates a fusion of Rogue-lite and Metroidvania-style games. Another aspect that makes it different is that players can mount and ride every monster in the game!
The title was the brainchild of one single person over at Lychee Game Labs, Liam, who spent the good part of 7 years creating this game, single-handedly. In doing so, he has built a cult following for the game by having it in Early Access and sharing the development process on his community Discord server and YouTube channel.
Patch Quest is a hybrid of game genres that will lasso you in with its fast-paced gameplay. Players will be able to catch and tame more than 50 monsters to expand their collection and help them fight their way through the island’s patchwork terrain, which gets shuffled each night. They can earn exploration gadgets while they play that will unlock additional gameplay mechanics. Players will leap, glide, surf, tunnel, bite, slither, web-sling, and explode their way through the game as they unravel the mystery of Patchlantis.
Patchlantis is a twisting labyrinth that will change at a moment’s notice. Players will explore the island lassoing monsters, collecting them all and leveling them up, or just keeping them as pets. For players that really like to collect things, there are over 200 unique plants and minerals to collect. They will gather ammo fruits and blend them into ammo smoothies to create an extra powerful punch. As they progress they will unlock gates and open shortcuts to reach deeper into more dangerous zones.
Patch Quest is available now for PC via Steam. Are you up for the challenge?
