MORTAL SHELL Is Being Treated To A Glow-Up On PS5 And Xbox Series X|S

Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition - coming March 4th to PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X/S. Experience the superior way to play, with uncompromised 60fps gameplay,...

Last year I had the pleasure of getting a chance to play and review Playstack and Cold Symmetry’s Mortal Shell. I loved the game and wound up giving it a solid 9/10 score because of just how fun and cool it was. I love the gothic and foreboding setting in which it’s rooted and it really broke ground as the first Souls-like game that I’ve ever played. I’m happy to report that Mortal Shell will be getting a glow-up for these new PlayStation and Xbox consoles, adding improved optimization and hardware features. The best part, if you own the game on past-gen consoles then you’ll get the upgrade for free!

This new version of the game is titled Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition and is set to release digitally on March 4th with a physical release planned in the future (TBA). This Enhanced Edition serves as sort of a remaster of the original with a bunch of added flair. For instance, there will be upgraded textures throughout the game, as well as it running at 4k 60fps on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The Xbox Series S will play at 4k as well but will be limited to 30fps. Besides the visual boost, PlayStation players will get some extra support via the DualSense controller to integrate the in-game mechanics even further.

The digital version of the game is available on March 4th for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for $29.99. Again, there is a physical version planned but the release date is still up in the air, as well as a special physical edition planned that will cost $39.99 and will come with an exclusive artbook and postcards.
