Paradox Interactive is well known for its library of in-depth grand strategy games, and their upcoming title Victoria 3 is another such complicated adventure. Handling an entire nation and many of the details involved is no simple feat, and will test even the most tactical of players. With their newest gameplay trailer, Paradox takes a few minutes to paint a picture of what awaits players when Victoria 3 releases this year.
Touted as a “society simulator”, the trailer shows off many of the key variables to developing a nation. To properly overcome the challenges ahead, players must manage the people, research new inventions, wrangle their economy, while keeping their nation a vital part of the global political and industrial landscapes. With infinite replayability due to the sandbox style of play, players can forge their own history as any of dozens of nations from the Victorian Era while watching a living and evolving world during the 19th to 20th century.
As part of the newest game in the Victoria series, this 3rd iteration has an incredibly deep societal simulation, with each inhabitant of your nation being simulated. Farmers, clerks, capitalists, soldiers, aristocrats, and any other person has their own beliefs and political preferences, and how you attempt to appease some might offend others. Prepare to balance on a knife’s edge between stability and utter chaos when Victoria 3 releases later this year.
