Moon Lagoon and Secret Mode have developed a game called Loddlenaut. The game is smaller but packs a punch in its visuals and gameplay. A trailer recently dropped at The Re-MIX Online Showcase explains the basic gameplay loop and sheds light on how the game looks. The main character is a galactic custodian sent to refresh an abandoned ocean world polluted by a neglectful corporation. The custodian will find corporate ruins, a lush planet, and a cute species of animals called loddles.
The main gameplay premise is taking care of the loddles. Players will have to clean up after the creatures and feed them. Depending on what is fed, the loddles will take on associating evolutions. The creatures will then be able to lay eggs, creating a cohort of puddle creatures that can then purify the water of the GUP-14 planet.
The world of GUP-14 will also have to be taken care of. Players can blast away pollution and pick up trash to then use as material for gunk-fighting technology. It’s a game based on the themes of nature, pollution, human intervention, and the beautiful symbiosis between people and the world around us.
Loddlenaut is set to release in late 2023 with a demo currently out on Steam.
