Some collection of games, huh? It’s an interesting potpourri of titles going as far back as the NES/Famicom days. Of course, what people are latching onto is the renewal of trademarks for GameCube and Wii era games that have not seen a release in close to 10 years, such as Skyward Sword, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Super Mario Sunshine, Kirby Air Ride, Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem and possibly others.
This is leading to speculation: does Nintendo plan on bringing these games back to the Switch? Or will there be a new dedicated mini console as we’ve had with the NES and SNES Mini/Classic Editions? Or… is this all just a bunch of hoopla? It’s also interesting to note that Nintendo might have been in danger of losing the trademark to Super Mario World, one of the biggest games of all time!
What do you think about the situation? Which of these games would you like to see back? Personally, I think Kirby Air Ride and Super Mario Sunshine are long overdue for some re-examination. And the Golden Sun fans have always deserved better.
As always, stay tuned to Game Tyrant as more information develops.
