Open-World RPG OUTWARD Gets Definitive Edition This May

Prime Matter has announced a definitive edition of Nine Dots Studio’s quirky open-world RPG/survival game Outward for PC, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X|S coming this May.

Set in the fantasy world of Aurai, Outward: Definitive Edition presents a land that, while charming at first glance, has little sympathy for you as a protagonist. You begin your adventure not to save the world, but as a means to work yourself out of debt. From there, the adventure continues as an unbroken narrative, where ‘deaths’ in the classic sense take the forms of collapses, captures, and falls into caves that may even propel you forward rather than put you back.

The world does not wait for you, with time passing, and terrible things befalling people if you take a quest and leave it for weeks unattended. Disease, cold, and exhaustion may befall your would-be hero, but planning and perseverance lead to greater rewards, with your actions having genuine weight and impact upon the world. The Definitive Edition will not only include the two DLCs, ‘The Three Brothers’ and ‘The Soroboreans’ but will bring new content with additional encounters, defeats, and diseases.

In good news for existing players, owners of the base game and the ‘The Three Brothers’ DLC will be able to redeem a copy of the Definitive Edition for free upon its release! Outward: Definitive Edition will be available as digital copies for the Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 5 and for PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store this May, with exact dates to be determined.
