Zoologists and caretakers everywhere, your developer Frontier Developments have announced a whole new region to be explored and an update to Planet Zoo that will really bring your park to life! While the first focus here is the brand new DLC region where five new animals and hundreds of scenery pieces are coming from, the update to the game itself is something that will affect everyone. For those who are looking for that expansion though, you can now get South American themed items and animals inside your park today.
As for the update itself, it brings so much to the game that many players have been waiting for. These updates include:
Genealogy - all animals are now select-able and will show their parents, siblings, mates and offspring. This will allow players to follow a gene pool of their animals back to their common ancestors!
Difficulty Settings - players can now choose between Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulties. The game was defaulted on medium prior to this addition, but now the game itself will be affected based on this choice. Examples of what is affected include:
How quickly animals get stressed
How willing guests will be to spend money
Whether guests will request refunds
What percent of Guest Happiness is required for better ratings

Changes to Animal Feeding - this will change the way Keepers will feed the animals and how much food is used for different animals, such as juveniles, in a way that will be quicker and more efficient.
