We already know from the original announcement during Gamescom 2019 that the sequel to the award winning and all around well-reviewed game Cat Quest by The Gentlebros will have some awesome new features, but their publisher PQube wanted to expand on the different new aspects. To do so, they have created a short feature teaser for all of the newest aspects coming to Cat Quest II.
The first feature shown off is that the map is getting an overall expansion. This means that there will be so much more “ex-paw-ing” to do throughout the game, places to see, enemies to fight, and friends to meet. Showing off the vast deserts, towering rocks, and auburn meadows of the Lupus Empire in the teaser, you can expect this neighboring feline land to be full of quests
Next up is the feature that I am sure majority of the Cat Quest fans are excited for and that is multiplayer! They have added the aspect of having two players fight side-by-side on a journey through their expanding world. This was shown shortly in the original trailer, but in the teaser they released you can see some of the different options it includes like switching between solo and multiplayer at any time, as well as, separate equipment and customization opportunities. With both players setting up differently to attack, it will be easy to see that two paws are better than one.
Finally we are at the feature of new weapons, spells, and bonuses on armor. There is now a diverse new arsenal of wands and staffs that boast lots of spell damage and/or let you restore mana by attacking from the back line after unleashing powerful new spells. Melee fighters should be delighted to know that two-handers will expand the pool of melee weapons with broader blows and harder hits. And then there are the new passive skills on armor let you further customize your hero with perks like increased attack speed, magic resistance, extended rolling distance and much more.
These new features are coming out just as the game is gearing up for its release on September 24th for Steam. Unfortunately, it only builds hype for console players as the launch for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One will be sometime in Autumn. Either way, these features have me beyond excited for the next chapter to a pawsome fast-paced RPG like this and I can’t wait to get my hands on it myself!
