The day has finally come and Retro-Bit’s mysterious teases have been revealed and it turns out that they were Sega Saturn related after all! To celebrate the consoles 25th anniversary, Retro-Bit has announced 2 new colors for their excellent 2.4 GHz wireless Saturn controllers, Black and White! When the controllers originally launched in late 2019 the Standard Black Saturn pad was oddly missing with Clear Blue, and Slate Gray being available instead. The return of standard Black has been heavily requested and it is great to see it make its return in wireless. The addition of the Japanese style white controllers is also very exciting as it brings a formerly exclusive style of Sega Saturn pad to the West in an official capacity for the first time! The only color we are missing out on now is the Japanese standard Grey. Maybe someday soon we can get that as an option as well! As with Retro-Bit’s other 2.4 GHz controllers, a wireless dongle will be included for both the Sega Saturn console and USB equipped devices.
Now this wouldn’t be a proper celebration without something big happening. Yes the announcement of 2 new controller colors is pretty great but Retro-Bit really wants this occasion to be one to remember. From now until 5 PM PT/8 PM ET on May 31, Retro-Bit will be hosting a worldwide giveaway for a rare Japanese exclusive skeleton "This is COOL" Sega Saturn console and a pair of the new Sega Saturn 2.4 GHz controller colors! This particular model of Saturn is one of the rarer variants and can be regularly found being sold for upwards of $350. To enter the contest all you have to do is enter your first name and an email address in the provided fields on the official contest site! In addition to this grand prize, 2 other winners will be selected to receive the new Sega Saturn 2.4 GHz controller colors.

Winners will be selected on June 1 2020 and contacted via email. Just as a quick note, the Sega Saturn is a region locked system so if you happen to win this amazing grand prize you will need to either import Japanese games to play on the system or use a device like a GameShark or Action Replay to bypass the region locking.

This giveaway is honestly one of the coolest I think I have participated in for some time. Not only is there a chance to win some slick looking controllers, but a freaking rare Sega Saturn console is up for grabs too! Retro-Bit has been continually upping their game with each product release and their dedication to making awesome products for our favorite systems of yesteryear continues to show. The company has big plans for 2020 including a number of new releases, like the wireless Tribute 64 and Dreamcast controllers, and new re-prints coming from the Retro-Bit Publishing label.
