RUMOR: Far Cry Based Extraction Shooter Could Be Going Back To The Drawing Board

According to a new report by Tom Henderson over at Insider Gaming, it seems that Ubisoft is having a second go at an extraction shooter, this time based in the Far Cry universe. The last efforts by the developer/publisher saw them do Rainbow Six Extraction in 2022 that came and went like a fuze charge, but will this endavor fare better?

According to the report, the extraction shooter that was initially set to be bundled with Far Cry 7 as a multiplayer component was being reworked as its own extraction shooter. However, it seems that whatever progress was being made for the game, has now been reset as the latest update shared with Tom is that the project is going back to prototyping phase.

This could mean that while a new Far Cry could soon be on the horizon, a multiplayer based in the same universe could still be a long ways away.

We are curious to see what an extraction shooter in the universe would look like, but more importantly, the support for it will also matter too.
