Recent rumors and industry insiders have suggested that the recently released Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown development team has been disbanded, citing the title not meeting sales targets. A report by Insider-Gaming could suggest a new pivot to a Rayman Remake, an IP that was also once lost to the sands of time.
While many fans were eager and optimistic about the return of Prince of Persia with The Lost Crown, it seems Ubisoft may take the IP back to the drawing board. However, it is not all bad news as the team behind the game is rumored to be assigned to work on a Rayman Remake.
The original Ubisoft platformer that hasn’t had a mainline entry in a decade could finally get a new chance at life.
It has also been said that developers have been allocated on Beyond Good and Evil 2, and in a console generation where we finally see the release of Skull & Bones, could it be possible we see the release of another game stuck in development hell?
Only time will tell if both of the decisions by Ubisoft will pan out for the better.
