Rogue Games and David Marquardt Studios have recently announced their latest title set in a futuristic wild west setting, Dust & Neon. The game is set to arrive sometime in 2023 and will set the stage for cowboys vs robots. The twin-stick shooter will provide a healthy mix of RPG elements and a rouguelite twist.

Players are tasked with the job of eradicating the robot menace. You play as a legendary gunslinger that has been brought back to life from the past by a mad scientist. Gamers will be able to level up by using an RPG skill tree and deck out their gunslinger with the best gear they can find in the randomly generated ecosystem.

As the player progresses, it seems the cowboy can take full advantage of cyborg upgrades to help fend off the robotic menace. The gameplay trailer shows off a top-down shooter with a very colorful palette. The game seems to be reminiscent of comic book cell-shade style graphics, a la Borderlands. One thing is certain though, loot will be plentiful in this game.
