Just before the holidays got started last year, Frictional Games announced their next title in the Amnesia series with the surprise that it was going to be horror in a sandbox open-world environment for the first time. When Amnesia: The Bunker’s original announcement was made, they originally stated that they were aiming for a March 2023 release, but it seems fans will have to wait a little bit longer for this one. The good news is, we have an official release date and more details about the game!
Players play as Henri and must navigate the dark and twisted maze of the bunker, using all their skills and resources to outsmart and outrun the beast. But the creature is not the only obstacle Henri must face. The bunker is a labyrinth of twists and turns, filled with traps and other hazards that threaten to end the soldier's life at every turn. Throughout the game, players will experience the intense psychological horror of Henri's situation and will learn about the character as he faces his fears and turns them into beliefs and hope. The game is a story of survival and the will to live, even in the direst of circumstances.
Amnesia: The Bunker is set to release on May 16th for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Until then, there are a few gameplay clips worth checking out, and likely more to come as we get closer to launch.
