Known for the Remothered franchise, Stormind Games has announced its first wholly-owned, original property, Batora: Lost Haven. The game follows its protagonist, Avril as she loses everything she cares for. Earth is dying and it’s up to her to save it from oblivion. This game takes a different approach to the normal RPG mechanics as it’s based on the combination of mind and body.
Narrative Designer on Batora: Lost Haven, Giacomo Masi said that “The journey which Avril takes in Batora really focuses on the need for a strategic dualism - mastering the balance between the physical and the mental - whilst presenting a multi-branching, a narrative full of consequences, rich in plot twists and credible, likable characters”. (Press Release, January 28th, 2021)
The mechanics will have players searching for the perfect balance between the two to decide how something should be tackled. Known as the “switch mechanic”, this will alternate between the physical and mental state of Avril. Every decision that Avril makes has importance to it and could yield life-changing results for the characters along her journey and the places she visits.
Batora: Lost Haven’s release date is TBA but it will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
