14 Hours Productions are huge fans of the Tamagotchi license. That is no surprise after they announced their newest title Yolk Heroes: A Long Tamago. Do you see the influence even in the title? Yolk Heroes takes influence overall from old-school games which is best shown in the cover art and actual game visuals.
The player takes the mantle of a Guardian Spirit and is tasked by the Fairy Queen to raise little elves into heroes. This is all to battle against the Dark Lord who threatens to destroy the land. This is the main gist of the narrative backdrop. The elves will need to be slowly raised in relaxing gameplay where you nurture and train them. Unlike Tamagotchi, the elves will then need to be sent out to fight and train to grow stronger. If your elf dies on these adventures or isn’t taken care of, they'll die. But don’t worry because the Fairy Queen will give you a new egg to replace the life you let slip away. These eggs will need to be protected from outside influence until ready to hatch!
The game plays like an idle game. Players can set the elves on tasks and sit back while the elves play in real time until they notify the player that they need a new objective. The whole game can’t be played idle, however. The elves will need to be bathed, fed, entertained, rested, and trained to become killing machines with no mercy for the Dark Lord and his minions! What parent wouldn’t be proud of that?
Yolk Heroes: A Long Tamago is coming soon to PC via Steam, itch.io, Google Play Store, and the App Store.
