While we really don’t know anything about it yet, Techland has revealed the first piece of concept art for their unannounced AAA open-world action-RPG. From the looks of it, the game will be taking place in a fantasy setting.
What we do know about the game is that the development team is led by key figures behind some of the biggest RPGs in modern history. On the team, there is Narrative Director Karolina Stachyra who is hailed for writing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's Bloody Baron quest line alongside many contributions to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. She is joined by Narrative Lead Arkadiusz Borowik from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Open World Director Bartosz Ochman from Cyberpunk 2077, Lead Animator Kevin Quaid from Horizon Zero Dawn, Lead Game Designer David McClure from Deathloop, Creative Director Mario Maltezos from Mad Max, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and more.
I’m intrigued to see what Techland develops next as they did a phenomenal job with Dying Light 2 Stay Human recently. Seeing this team branch out to a new genre with a large variety of talented folks is definitely exciting!
