THE ARTFUL ESCAPE Gets Its Breakout Date

The Artful Escape is finally getting its long awaited release this September. The Artful Escape, the first game from independent developer Beethoven & Dinosaur, received a new trailer during the first Annapurna Interactive Showcase this past Friday, showing off a little more of the game’s story, gameplay, and dazzling aesthetic.

The Artful Escape follows aspiring musician Francis Vendetti as he “battles with the legacy of a dead folk legend and the cosmic wanderings of his own imagination.” Francis must discover his stage persona and find the courage to go out for his first performance by navigating his own “psychedelic, multidimensional journey.”

The trailer also revealed the cast for the game, an all-star lineup featuring some of the most recognizable actors working today. The two leads are played by Michael Johnston and Caroline Kinley as Francis and Violetta respectively, with a supporting cast featuring Lena Headey, Jason Schwartzman, Mark Strong, and Carl Weathers.

The Artful Escape was first announced at E3 back in 2017, and the announcement trailer ended with a cheeky acknowledgement that the game might not be out any time soon. Beethoven & Dinosaur is headed by Johnny Galvatron, an Australian rock musician who dove into games in 2016 after a successful music career.

The Artful Escape will release on September 9th, 2021 for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and iOS via Apple Arcade. The game will also be available at launch as part of Xbox Game Pass.
