The Elder Scrolls Online has been running with its yearly content model for a few years now, and developer ZeniMax Online Studios is gearing up to reveal what 2022 has in store for players. The studio released a cinematic teaser for the new expansion to the game with the promise of a full reveal planned for later in the month.
The teaser opens on sweeping, oceanic vistas as three sailing ships make their way toward a lush island on the horizon. The camera swings low over craggy cliffs before revealing sprawling, port-side towns that climb up the side of a foliage-covered hill. Then the trailer takes a dark turn as storm clouds roll in and swallow the ships while an enigmatic knight heavy plate mail watches from over rain-drenched battlements.
The new addition to The Elder Scrolls Online will feature an entirely original story set in a region that’s never been explored in previous Elder Scrolls games. A press release was issued alongside the video that confirms the new DLC will introduce “a never-before-seen world and a tale that has yet to be told.”
Fans eager to learn more about the new year of The Elder Scrolls Online content can tune in to the reveal on January 27th, 2022, at 3 PM ET. And gamers eager to know more about what Bethesda is up to can read about Starfield, their first new IP in over 25 years.
