Today’s State of Play stream from Playstation revealed a lot of gaming news that’s on the horizon for Sony and PS4 owners, but the final few minutes of the broadcast was reserved for some exclusive footage. The Last of Us Part II is almost here, and every video clip or piece of news that Sony releases is precious. In the trailer that debuted during the State of Play, we received a glimpse of the harsh world that exists after the collapse of civilization, as well as the emotional distress of Ellie as she seeks revenge on a violent band of survivors that hurt someone she loved.
The trailer also reintroduces a character whom we’ve all sorely missed. Joel shows up at the end of the video to reassure gamers that the unforgettable duo will be back together for another adventure. Naughty Dog absolutely smashed it out of the park with the first game, so we can’t wait to rejoin Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us Part II.
And now we know that the game will release for the PS4 on February 21st in 2020. We’ll be crossing off the days on the calendar until it’s out.
