The Highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake is set to launch in a matter of months on March 3, 2020. News of a demo release for the title has also been circulating for the last few months with many hoping it would drop during December’s Game Awards. Well, new evidence of this rumored demo has appeared to leak online courtesy of Gamstat. The demo is believed to host the complete introductory sequence to the Final Fantasy VII story, you know that whole part where you blow up a powerplant. The demo will start with Cloud hopping off the train and proceed to the destruction of the Mako Reactor. This would make the demo slightly longer than the demo we were treated to at E3 2019! There still hasn’t been a release given for when this demo might become available but it looks like it will come in at roughly 23 gigs when it does finally drop.
Even with the demo not being accessible this hasn’t stopped data miners from digging through what little of the game’s files they can find. Even with the games PS4 timed exclusivity until next year, it seems that Square Enix has already begun work on other system ports with PC being mentioned a lot. It is also cool to know specifics about what resolution and framerate the game will be targeting with both the PS4 and PS4 Pro having a 1080P 30 FPS target. Of course, this is a leak and no official confirmations have been made about any of these details so until we get official word from Square Enix take everything you see with a grain of salt. Hopefully, this demo comes out soon though because I really wouldn’t mind replaying that intro section again one more time before the game officially releases!
