Last month, Dotemu announced their next retro game revival title to be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. Working with Tribute Games, they hope to bring New York City’s most righteous ninjas to life again with gorgeous pixel art. Originally thought to only be coming for the PC via Steam has now been clarified to also be releasing on the Nintendo Switch. Along with the announcement, made during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase, comes an awesome gameplay trailer that shows off the Turtles unleash radical special moves and gnarly combos!
Inspired by the Turtles’ iconic 1987 design, Dotemu is going to let you bring home yet another one of your favorite retro arcade games. On top of that, get ready to face off against infamous rivals, like Bebop and Rocksteady, and return to signature locations, like Dimension X. These lively battles are backed by original music from Tee Lopes, which a sample of Lopes’ energetic melodies can be heard in today’s gameplay trailer.
I’m hoping to see more platforms announced for this game as we get closer to finding out a release date for it, but I am pretty excited to see them include it on the Switch as well. Easily one of the best consoles for shared-screen multiplayer, in my opinion. Even if that news isn’t exciting for you as plan to get it on PC anyway, the gameplay trailer shared is worth every second to watch!
