10 Years After The Original's Success REUS 2 Just Got Announced

It has been over 10 years since the original release of the strategy civilization/world-building god game Reus originally released back in 2013. Now, Abbey Games and Firesquid Games have just announced that the sequel to their indie hit, Reus 2 is now in development. Much like the original Reus 2 will revolve around having a giant godlike being that you control to guide a plant and civilization’s growth.

In Reus 2 players will be able to create multiple different worlds and cultures while experimenting with how different choices and changes can affect development. Players can also plan and discover strategic synergies within ecosystems, biomes, and between giants. Over time, players will discover more and more ways to bring life to their planets, with endless combinations of nature and different rosters of giants. The fate of each world you create is up to the player and if you don’t like where your world has ended up you can always start again with a new one.

Reus 2 has a bunch of cool new features to try out from meta progression with the game to the wide assortment of giants available to guide and control your worlds. Players will be able to experiment with natural resources, by using different combinations of flora and fauna players can help find new interactions between these elements and witness how they change the human societies that inhabit that world. Players will also be able to shape the goals of the societies that evolve on their planets, whether they want nature-loving elf types or spacefaring adventurers the choice is up to them. Lastly, every playthrough will leave a lasting legacy in the stars and inspires new paths to take.

Reus 2 is currently in development with no current release date. Players can wishlist the game now on Steam to be the first to hear about any updates.
